Stretch that still holds a shape

Scuba is a double knit with a dense, springy handle and a very smooth face. It is unusual in combining real stretch with enough body to stand slightly away from the body, which is why it holds a full skirt or a sculpted peplum without any lining or interfacing.

It does not fray, so seam finishing is optional, and it takes a crisp edge. Use it for structured dresses, skirts, peplums, fitted tops and craft projects like bows and boxes. Sew with a ballpoint needle and a stretch stitch, and press gently with a cool iron — it is synthetic and will glaze under heat.
