Cork Fabric
1 products
Cork fabric from £8.99 a metre — a thin cork surface on a fabric backing: light, water-resistant and non-fray.
Grain textures and decorative finishes
Cork vinyl offers the distinctive, organic look of natural bark paired with the flexibility of a synthetic textile. Across the range, the surface appearance varies depending on how the cork particles are distributed. Fine and medium grains provide an even, subtle pattern, whereas large and dark grain variations display deeper visual contrast and more pronounced texture.
Alongside natural shades, there are decorative options suited to statement pieces. These include finishes with metallic gold and silver sparkle, multi-tonal rainbow colour, and printed design motifs.
Weight, structure and sewing uses
The fabrics in this range come in a 140cm width and carry a sturdy weight of 540gr/m². The composition is 18% cork bonded to an 82% PU backing. This construction gives the material firm body and pliable handling, making it feed and stitch similarly to a faux leather on a domestic sewing machine.
Because the cut edges do not fray or unravel, this material works well for raw-edge construction and structured craft projects. Common uses include:
- Handbags, tote bases, backpacks and clutch bags
- Wallets, coin purses and cardholders
- Protective device sleeves, notebook covers and pencil cases
- Appliqué pieces, contrast panels and small accessories
