The suede look without the hide

Faux suede has the matte napped surface of real suede on a textile base. It does not fray, it washes far better than leather, and it comes by the metre in a consistent width rather than as an irregular hide.

Use it for skirts, jackets, bags, cushions, upholstery and trim. It has a nap direction, so cut every piece running the same way or the panels will read as different shades. Pin inside the seam allowance only, and press from the back with a cloth on a low heat.
