Suede without the leather

Faux suede has the matte, napped surface of real suede on a woven or knitted base. It does not fray, it washes far better than the real thing, and it comes in a consistent width with no hide shapes to cut around.

Use it for skirts, jackets, bags, cushions, upholstery and craft trim. It has a nap direction like velvet — cut all pieces the same way. Pin inside the seam allowance only, since the surface can mark, and press from the back with a cloth on low heat.
