Blender Fabric

Blender fabrics — subtle tonal prints that read as near-solid, designed to sit between busier patterns without competing.
The quiet fabric in a quilt
A blender is a print that behaves like a solid from a distance: a tonal texture, a tiny motif or a soft mottle, with no strong pattern to draw the eye. Quilters use them as breathing space between feature prints.
They are more forgiving than a true plain, because the texture hides small piecing inaccuracies and shows creases and shading far less than flat colour. Use them for sashing, borders, backgrounds and backings, and for bag linings where you want interest without a pattern fighting the outside.
