Selecting the right weight for tops, skirts and leggings
Jersey is a knitted material, giving it natural stretch and flexibility for everyday clothing. Much of this plain range features a composition of 95% cotton and 5% elastane. This blend gives the fabric a soft feel against the skin alongside dependable recovery, so fitted seams do not sag after wear.
When deciding between options, pay close attention to the fabric weight:
- Medium weight jersey: Suitable for lighter garments, casual t-shirts, tops and day dresses.
- Heavy jersey: Provides extra opacity and hold, making it practical for leggings, skirts and dancewear costumes.
These knits are supplied across widths of 148cm to 150cm, giving ample cutting room for dressmaking patterns.
Solid cotton colours and metallic lurex finishes
A plain knit lets the construction lines and silhouette of a garment take centre stage. The collection spans broad palettes of up to 35 colours—including versatile tones such as teal—for simple wardrobe staples. For projects requiring distinct light reflection, silver lurex knit weaves fine metallic threads directly into a soft, stretchy base. This produces a glittery finish for evening garments, costumes and dancewear without losing the flexibility and comfort of a knit.
