Working with lightweight polyester organza
Organza is a sheer, open-weave material recognised for its transparency paired with a distinctive crispness. Our plain organza is woven from 100% polyester at a very light weight of 35 GSM. Despite being exceptionally light, the synthetic fibres give the cloth enough natural body to stand away from the body and hold defined lines, making it easy to create structured shapes, ruffles, or architectural accents without adding heavy bulk.
Because it is a synthetic plain weave, polyester organza provides reliable strength and holds its crisp texture even in delicate constructions where a sheer, glass-like finish is needed.
Where to use plain organza in dressmaking and decor
